J. C. Buehler has been a pilot and lawyer for 40 years with experience as a litigator, instructor, FAA Examiner, airline pilot and educator. He is admitted to practice in Indiana and Illinois. From 1984 through 1988, he was a pilot and check airman with ATA Airlines representing the airline before various courts, the FAA-DOT, and as a member of the ICAO Disruptive Passenger Task Force and the Litigation Committee of the Airlines for America. He is a founding partner of SolutionsAir, a Part 135 charter company, and currently serves as an FAA-Designated Pilot Examiner. His practice with the Buehler Law Group emphasizes insurance, subrogation, and aviation law. J.C. is a Registered Civil Mediator with professional memberships in the Indianapolis, Indiana State and Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association and the International Air & Transportation Safety Bar Association. Mr. Buehler is an Adjunct Professor of Aviation Law at the Indiana University McKinney School of Law (2017-present) and previously taught Commercial Law at the Indiana University Kelley School of Business (1982-87); and Business Law at the University of Indianapolis (1980-82). He has authored articles on aviation law and safety, presented at continuing legal education seminars and guest-lectured on aviation law and safety at pilot seminars and the Purdue University School of Aviation Technology. JC was a Hearing Judge with the Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission (2000-04), and a judge pro tem in the Marion County Superior Courts (1988-91). He worked with the CAP/USAFA as Wing Legal Officer and Check Pilot and currently serves as Reserve Deputy with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department. His board memberships include the Indiana Aviation Hall of Fame, Inc., Science on Tap, Inc., and the Heroes Club, Inc.
